Dear school community,
I am pleased to share with you that construction works have been completed and our dream for a new school has finally been achieved!
We have received notification that our new school at Urquhart Street has now reached Practical Completion! Students and staff will slowly begin to transition into their new school for the start of Term 2, where they will make use of their fantastic new facilities, including fitness rooms, art, science and food technology spaces and general classrooms.
It’s been an incredible journey seeing the project come to life. Now it becomes a main part of how we deliver quality education for Coburg Special Developmental School students.
Thank you again for your patience and support during this time of change. I’m sure you will agree that the finished product was well worth the wait! We will keep our school community up to date with what arrangements will be in place prior to transitioning into our new school.
An official opening of the project will take place in the coming weeks. I’ll be able to update you with details on this soon.

We provide a friendly and caring environment that enhances learning, personal growth and well-being for students with a moderate to profound intellectual disability as well as sensory and physical impairments and autism spectrum disorder.
The school caters for families from the northern and western suburbs, from a range of socio-economic and ethnic background. Students attending the school generally reside within our designated transport area.

At Coburg SDS we strive to provide all students with the skills needed to meet their full potential through our child centred learning approach. Students are empowered to be active members of the school and wider community by building independence, communication and relationships. We work together as a team to provide a positive, safe and engaging learning environment where student voice and readiness for life after school is at the centre of our teaching and learning.
